Rental Car Company Pet Policies
If you travel with your pet, chances are you’ll have to rent a car at some point or another. Luckily, most rental car companies in the United States are pet-friendly. Whether you need a vehicle for a multi day road trip or just a few hours, you should be able to bring your dog with you.
Here are rental company pet policies, and a few tips for traveling with your dog in a rental car.
Tips For Traveling With a Dog in a Rental Car
- Bring gear: We recommend traveling with a pet carrier and/or crate, and a pet carseat or pet seatbelt. This will keep your pet safe in case of accidents, and prevent them for distracting you while driving.
- Pack a blanket, towel, or car seat cover: Cover the seats for easy clean up.
- Clean up supplies: A lint roller or one of these will help remove any fur at the end of your trip.
- Speak to the rental company: Always contact the rental location before booking to confirm their policy.
- Use these car hacks: We’ve compiled a list of road trip hacks that will make your journey a lot smoother.
