About the Game

Every year, the American Kennel Club releases a list of the most popular dog breeds in the United States. The list is compiled of data from dog owners throughout the country, but we want to see how New Yorkers match up!

So what’s the most popular dog breed in NYC? We’ll find out! Players have a week to fill out a bracket with their predictions. Then, New Yorkers can vote for their favorite dog breeds via Instagram.

The person with the bracket that comes closest to correctly predicting the winning breed gets a buttload of prizes (and bragging rights!) and the winning breed gets a feature on Instagram. The dogs are chosen from those who rallied the most for their breed!

How to Play

Anyone can play! It’s free and fun. Here’s how:

Download the 2022 Bracket.
Fill it out!
Email the completed bracket to [email protected]. Please make the subject of the e-mail “2022 Bracket” and include your name and Instagram handle in the body of the email. Yes – it can be your dog’s Instagram handle 😀.

The bracket is open and available to play from Monday, April 4th to Sunday, April 10th. Then the voting begins!

Rules

The rules are, there are no rules!

Just kidding! There are rules, but only a few.

One entry per person.
Brackets must be submitted between April 4th and April 10th. Any bracket sent after April 10th will not be accepted.
Some prizes are location based (NYC of course!) so please submit if you live in NYC or are able to travel to NYC.
HAVE FUN! This one seems obvious, but some New Yorkers took things a little too seriously last year when their breed of choice didn’t win. This contest is purely for fun! Don’t take things personally.

Prizes

The person with the bracket that comes closest to correctly predicting the winning breed wins the following prizes:

A prize bundle from Dog Candy, including: dogs pin, stickers, the bad dog coloring book, a dog face mask, and more!
A free lifestyle session and a framed 8×10 print from The Ways of the Dog.
A watercolor and colored pencil illustration of your pet in a 9” x 9” frame by Daniela Rodriguez.
A Birthday or Gotcha Day cake from The Pupper Cup, delivered to you in NYC.
A toy bundle from Gone to the Dogs, including their Shaved Ice Squeaker, Unicorn Squeaker and Giant Maki Roll!

The winning breed gets a prize too! Andrea Caceres will be creating a special illustration of the winning breed that will be available as a t-shirt, tote, and hat.
