#PugsTake is a weekend gathering of pugs and their friends in which they “take over” a different US city. It happens twice a year, in the spring and fall. The pugs have so far traveled to cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, and even Las Vegas. The philanthropic pugs not only have fun, they also raise money for rescue. Each #PugsTake features a raffle where 100% of the proceeds are donated. We’re proud to be one of the organizers!
Location: different cities across the USA.
International Berlin Pug Meeting
This international pug meet up happens every year in Berlin, where hundreds of pugs come together to socialize and race. The main event of the all day gathering is a pug race, where the mops (pug in German) run for their lives in the hopes of being named fastest pug. If you think this race is just about low key fun then think again; there’s an official time keeper, with video recording and photo finish technology.
Location: Berlin, Germany
The largest pug event in the US, the Milwaukee Pugfest is a weekend-long pug gathering held in an indoor sports complex. Over 3,800 humans and 2,100 dogs come every year to celebrate pugs and check out vendors, meet pug rescues, and party. There’s a silent auction, costume party, pug races and more.
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
Pug Cafe is a pop up event that transforms regular coffee houses and cafes into Pug Cafes for the day. Pugs, their owners, and pug lovers are welcome to come, hang out, and enjoy special menus, with items like puguccinos and pugcakes. These pop up pug cafes happen all across England, and have branched out to include other breeds too (check out their dachshund cafe and frenchie cafe!). There is a strict booking policy, with time slots filled in advance on their website.
Every year, the Portland Humane Society throws Portland’s most popular dog-friendly event: the Pug Crawl! Pugs and their owners come donned in costume to match each year’s theme and march in a parade of pugs. There’s live music, food and drink available, as well as vendors, a photo booth, and a dog water cooling station.

Boardwalks, beaches, and buckets…oh my! Pugapalooza is a once a year pug party at the Jersey Shore. It takes place at Wonder Bar, a dog-friendly bar that’s known for their yappy hour. The fenced in, outdoor space allows dogs to run off-leash and chill by the water bowl, while their humans check out vendors and sip on rum buckets.
Location: Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA
Pug Camp is a dream vacation for pugs and the humans who love them. It takes place every year at a summer camp in Pennsylvania at the end of August. There are events like the Pug Olympics, Doga (dog yoga!), and Pug Movie Night. There’s also a silent raffle and lots of opportunities to mingle. Camp runs from Friday to Sunday, and campers have the option of staying the entire weekend or getting a day pass.

What started as a #PugsTake event in Las Vegas is now it’s own full fledged Vegas party! Grumble City is proud to host Vegas Pug Party, a weekend long event for pugs and their people. The pugs invade Sin City and party all weekend long, with a party bus stopping on the strip and a pajama party in the works. There’s also a raffle, pug wedding, and a convention day, with vendors, speakers, panels and more.
