The Ultimate Guide to Dog Parks in Brooklyn

On weekend mornings, my favorite New York City activity is grabbing a coffee and heading to my local dog park. I can sit to enjoy my coffee (iced in the summer, hot in the fall and winter), all while my dogs play and socialize. It’s a relaxing way to start the day for both me and my pup.

Over the last several decades, New York City’s Parks Department has created a multitude of fenced in, fully enclosed spaces for your dog to romp and play off-leash. They’re free and often have amenities like trees for shade and benches.

Below is an official list of all of the dog parks in Brooklyn. If you’re looking for fun things to do with your dog in Brooklyn, head to one of them!

Before You Go To The Dog Park

Remember to:

  • Be clean – pick up after your dog and properly dispose of their waste.
  • Play nice – don’t let your dog chase birds, squirrels or other NYC wildlife.
  • Be safe – your dog must be vaccinated against rabies, and you are required to carry proof of a current dog license and rabies vaccination while in public.
  • Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way.
