Doggie Splash Days: Dog-Friendly Swimming Near NYC

If you’re looking for a place for your dog to swim near New York City, then these doggy splash days are for you. Doggie Splash Days are when pools or waterparks allow dogs to come for a day or two to enjoy the water before it’s drained. They’re a great way for pups to cool down, socialize, and enjoy the summer before it’s over.

There are Doggie Splash Days all over the United States, but here are some near New York City:

Morey’s Piers and Water Park

Morey’s is a collection of piers, shops, and water parks in Wildwood, NJ. Every year, they host not one, but two fun events for dogs: the doggie dash race and a puppy pool party.

The doggie dash race is a fun and relaxed 5K or 1-mile run or walk down the beach. Participants get a medal, leash, and a Finisher’s Celebration on the beach with music, food (for 2 legged and 4 legged friends), plus dog games and activities.

The puppy pool party gives dogs free rein to paddle along the river adventure, play in the fountain pool, or fetch tennis balls in the activity pool.

To go, you need a ticket for each guest and pooch, a release form, and proof of rabies vaccination. A portion of each ticket price is donated to Team Foster, a non-profit that pairs service dogs with veterans.

Make it a vacation, and stay at the nearby Blue Palms Resort, who offer a “Doggie Unleashed” stay package for the weekend.
